Ophthalmologist

Dr. Mary Coday grew up in North Seattle. She received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Bioengineering at the University of Washington, summa cum laude. Dr. Coday then moved to Boston to obtain her medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 1994. She did her internship at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, followed by her residency in ophthalmology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston. Dr. Coday has been in practice for 22 years in the greater Seattle area. She has worked at Overlake EyeCare, PS, for the last 16 years. Dr. Coday is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She is a member of the Washington Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, having served as past president and trustee. She is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Washington State Medical Association. She received a “Top Doctors” award in 2013, 2020 and 2022. In 2018 she received 'Trademark Women of Distinction Honors'. She is active in the community and is a provider through the EyeCare America program. In her spare time, Dr. Coday goes on outings with her family, reads, does dance fitness and serves as adjunct faculty for Northwest University in Kirkland.

Divya Raju, OD

Dr. Raju received her Optometry degree through the Accelerated Program at The New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. She completed her training with externships from Lahey Hospital (Peabody, MA), VA Medical Center (Providence, RI), VA Medical Center (West Haven, CT), and Dimock Community Health Center (Boston, MA). Her training involved an emphasis in Primary eye care, Ocular disease, and Low vision. Dr. Raju is a member of New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians and The American Optometric association. Prior to Optometry school, she earned her medical degree from Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences (Bangalore India), where she has trained in Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Obgyn, and other specialties. She has also done a year of residency in Ophthalmology. Dr. Raju was born and brought up in Bangalore, India. She plays classical flute, is a yoga instructor, and is passionate about traveling, trekking, tennis and environmental initiatives. She has participated in several outreach programs in rural India, as well as in the Special Olympics and Veteran’s health camps in the US.

A Washington transplant since third grade, Dr. Smith is grateful to be back near family in the northwest. He completed his undergraduate education at Santa Clara University and spent some time working in academic research in Seattle and Kansas City before deciding to pursue optometry at just the right time to be part of the class of “20/20!” He received his doctorate in Optometry from Ohio State University and then went on to optometric residency at a multi-specialty practice in ocular disease in Toledo, Ohio. Some professional interests of his are ocular disease, glaucoma management, refractive care, and comprehensive ocular health. He always loves to take advantage of outdoor activities--if you have a favorite trail recommendation, let him know!

Young min Chung, OD

Dr. Chung is native to Washington state. He majored in biochemistry at the University of Washington and obtained his doctorate degree in optometry from Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University in Fullerton, CA. His optometric training was done at Hoopes Vision (Draper, UT), VA, Southern Nevada Healthcare System (North Las Vegas, LV), Ketchum Health (Anaheim, CA), and Hu Hu Kam Memorial Hospital (Sacaton, AZ), where the training was focused on primary eye care, ocular disease management, low vision, vision therapy, and refractive surgery. He practiced optometry in Fort Lauderdale, FL for first few years in his career where he learned to speak Spanish to carry out a comprehensive eye exam through many encounters of a Hispanic patient population. He is also fluent in Korean and takes pride in providing eye care utilizing his bilingual ability. Dr. Chung enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and his family. In his free time, he likes running, working out at the gym, and playing soccer.
